My fiancé and I started the loan process with this company. Within 48 hours we had a pre approval. We began looking for a home. We found a home, put in an offer, paid for an inspection, had an appraisal done only to get a call two weeks before closing saying that if we didn’t pay off one of our vehicle loans before closing we could not follow through... back tracking to the beginning, our lender gave us a list of other things to pay off in the amount of $1,100 and we did so as asked and he told us everything else was fine and our debt to income ratios were great... after we decided not to go forward because we were not going to pay off our car loan at the time, we let the lender know that our income had not changed and that we didn’t understand why now two weeks before closing we have a huge debt that they want paid. He told me that he “fudged” some of the numbers to make sure that we got a pre approval and when it went in for underwriting they changed the numbers to how they should be... we had put an earnest check down, found a house, paid for an inspection and for what... for the company to tell us before closing that we needed to pay something off that should have been caught in the beginning. They had all of the same numbers the first and second time that they ran our mortgage numbers. They also will not take responsibility for it and say that they were not negligent in any way... WRONG!read more

We had the most amazing first home buying experience with Don Droege from the Creve Coeur branch. I imagined buying a home as an extremely stressful and difficult process but he made everything SO much less scary and he helped me every single step of the way. He was ALWAYS available to answer any and all of my questions (& believe me, I had a ton of them). I couldn’t have asked for a better first time home buyer experience! Thanks again for everything Don! read more

Patrick Doyle was excellent every step of the way! He made our first time buying experience a breeze. My wife and I bought a home in October 2017 and had many questions since it was our first time. Pat took my phone calls almost anytime of the day and if he could not answer then he would shoot me a text letting me know he will call me back as soon as he can. He was very knowledgeable and patient. He never showed impatience with my wife and I and genuinely seemed happy to crunch numbers on houses for us to figure out our best target price for a home we could afford. I would highly recommend Patrick!read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Worst mortgage company ever.
We had been making our payment out of one account and suddenly they couldn't pull from that account, so told us that we had to transfer our money to a different account, so we did and made the payment. They still tried to pull from the other account which bounced, I got charged a fee, and then they put our mortgage account on some kind of certified payment thing and refused to look into it. The manager was horrible. Hanging up one me once, so I had to return the call. He REFUSED to answer my questions and would only give me an email to contact someone about our account. I now have to send in a certified payment for mortgage for 6 months, even though it was their fault. And they refuse to do anything about it. As well as they are so unorganized. Half the time things arent in our notes and they have no clue what is going on.
Do not use this company! They are horribly unorganized and can not offer a solution. They lost our house payment and cant find it, even when tracking and proof of signature was provided. I will never use them again and will be sure to share our terrible experience with everyone.
I have been a customer of Cornerstone Mortgage since 1996. That's 22 years! During that time I have purchased four homes and completed several refinances with Brad Bradford. Each transaction perfectly executed - no game, no gimmecks, fair fees fully explained upfront . If your family is searching for a ethical, transparent and highly professional mortgage company, Cornerstone Mortgage is the firm I would recommend.
I purchased a home in June, using cornerstone, it was their IL office. As far as time table, we closed on time, without any surprises at closing.Everyone was polite and very professional, and took the time to explain everything to me as many times as I needed. I was very impressed when I asked Mike Voght, my loan officer, to explain it to me like I'm 5. He did, very well and without even a hint of condescension. The rest of the staff I interacted with was just as polite and down to earth. I highly recommend these people, they are extremely down to earth, polite people that know how to get things done.
