Randy Morgan told me, my realtor, even sellers realtor when he called everything looked good and no worries that... everything looked great throughout this whole process to only be called this last Friday when we were to close this Friday and state I was denied for loan. He was completely unprofessional & spoke to my realtor like she was a dog and hung up on her and when I call to see what’s going on, he talked to me in same manner and I recorded conversation. I have never been spoke to like that by anyone I had dealings with Re: business, etc... and I asked him why he denied me and he couldn’t really answer me other than “ michaela I’m not looking at your file again.” Very hot headed/terrible temper, highly unprofessional, and my credit is good, credit to ration is good, pmt history great, and I make decent money. He Told my agent one thing and yet when sent denial letter, marked in check boxes complete opposite as to why I was denied that what he verbalized to my agent. He told my agent to point blank “ leave me alone!” I told Randy how unprofessional I thought he was and if I was “ Jeri” my agent, that I don’t think I would ever use him again. He then stated “ I do not care if Jeri (my realtor) or Cindy (broker) ever use me again!” Randy with Guild totally dropped the ball and obviously did something wrong and then tried to act & talk to us like that was just above & beyond. This is the man that represents Guild Mortgage? Wow!! He was so nice in the beginning, if you need anything call, etc etc to this horrible , rude, disrespectful, non caring, arrogant, unprofessional individual that he appears to clearly have issues. I got the call right before 5pm this past Friday and I put 2k earnest money down, they sent appraiser to this home just last Wk days before I got denied and think I’m going to pay for that? I am still completely flabbergasted the way he acted and spoke to me and my agent on the phone and not a care in the world and heartless. He is very arrogant and thinks he’s invincible bc you can tell for him to act the way he did & say the things he said that this wasn’t near his first rodeo. Bc they dropped the ball or did something wrong on their end, I’m paying the price. I have never in my life been turned down on a loan. Actually I already got a Loan through another lender since then and one that is reputable and one I can trust and he’s even scratching his head as to why I was denied. I went with randy bc he made promises (he couldn’t keep) I needed this done quick, and my realtor referred him. I should of went with another lender from get go and should of known better when he started bad mouthing another lender I was thinking about using on the phone to me in our very first conversation but lesson learned. I will be turning him/Guild into the BBB, and will not stop there. I believe the sellers agent/broker on house I was to close on this Friday is also doing something. He knows as well as my agent and my new lender I was done wrong and then to be treated and talked to like that isn’t going to fly with me. Also I never got a denial letter until I asked on Tuesday and then sent to my agent not me. I requested David send my file to my new lender on Fri or Sat morn and I have confirmation he said he would but yet stated on Monday I sent him wrong email. Lol go figure so new lender , agent, and real estate atty Had to email him requesting file and then only to get half of file. I also requested that Randy send Jeri and myself my file and he refused and stated “ if Jeri wants file, she can drive up here to office and pick it up!” could go on and on with facts, emails, texts etc but being advised not to. Please save yourself the mental stress and anguish and take your biz elsewhere.read more
They are greedy and heartless. They know that millions of people are out of work and only offered us a forbearance plan... that they know is not fair or sustainable. They said they are not allowed to defer the payments, yet MANY other mortgage companies are doing just that. They want us to fail. How can they expect 4 months of payments at once when no one is ALLOWED to work??? They also know they can then swoop in and short sale our homes or foreclose if we can't catch up and make those payments. Forget refinancing because no one will qualify. They will make more money on the equity of our homes and reap all the benefits. I will be looking to refinance with another company that actually cares and doesn't give excuses. Shame on them.read more

My fiancé and I started the loan process with this company. Within 48 hours we had a pre approval. We began looking... for a home. We found a home, put in an offer, paid for an inspection, had an appraisal done only to get a call two weeks before closing saying that if we didn’t pay off one of our vehicle loans before closing we could not follow through... back tracking to the beginning, our lender gave us a list of other things to pay off in the amount of $1,100 and we did so as asked and he told us everything else was fine and our debt to income ratios were great... after we decided not to go forward because we were not going to pay off our car loan at the time, we let the lender know that our income had not changed and that we didn’t understand why now two weeks before closing we have a huge debt that they want paid. He told me that he “fudged” some of the numbers to make sure that we got a pre approval and when it went in for underwriting they changed the numbers to how they should be... we had put an earnest check down, found a house, paid for an inspection and for what... for the company to tell us before closing that we needed to pay something off that should have been caught in the beginning. They had all of the same numbers the first and second time that they ran our mortgage numbers. They also will not take responsibility for it and say that they were not negligent in any way... WRONG!read more
We had the most amazing first home buying experience with Don Droege from the Creve Coeur branch. I imagined buying a... home as an extremely stressful and difficult process but he made everything SO much less scary and he helped me every single step of the way. He was ALWAYS available to answer any and all of my questions (& believe me, I had a ton of them). I couldn’t have asked for a better first time home buyer experience! Thanks again for everything Don! read more

Patrick Doyle was excellent every step of the way! He made our first time buying experience a breeze. My wife and I... bought a home in October 2017 and had many questions since it was our first time. Pat took my phone calls almost anytime of the day and if he could not answer then he would shoot me a text letting me know he will call me back as soon as he can. He was very knowledgeable and patient. He never showed impatience with my wife and I and genuinely seemed happy to crunch numbers on houses for us to figure out our best target price for a home we could afford. I would highly recommend Patrick!read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Worst mortgage company ever.
We had been making our payment out of one account and suddenly they couldn't pull from that account, so told us that we had to transfer our money to a different account, so we did and made the payment. They still tried to pull from the other account which bounced, I got charged a fee, and then they put our mortgage account on some kind of certified payment thing and refused to look into it. The manager was horrible. Hanging up one me once, so I had to return the call. He REFUSED to answer my questions and would only give me an email to contact someone about our account. I now have to send in a certified payment for mortgage for 6 months, even though it was their fault. And they refuse to do anything about it. As well as they are so unorganized. Half the time things arent in our notes and they have no clue what is going on.
Do not use this company! They are horribly unorganized and can not offer a solution. They lost our house payment and cant find it, even when tracking and proof of signature was provided. I will never use them again and will be sure to share our terrible experience with everyone.
I have been a customer of Cornerstone Mortgage since 1996. That's 22 years! During that time I have purchased four homes and completed several refinances with Brad Bradford. Each transaction perfectly executed - no game, no gimmecks, fair fees fully explained upfront . If your family is searching for a ethical, transparent and highly professional mortgage company, Cornerstone Mortgage is the firm I would recommend.
I purchased a home in June, using cornerstone, it was their IL office. As far as time table, we closed on time, without any surprises at closing.Everyone was polite and very professional, and took the time to explain everything to me as many times as I needed. I was very impressed when I asked Mike Voght, my loan officer, to explain it to me like I'm 5. He did, very well and without even a hint of condescension. The rest of the staff I interacted with was just as polite and down to earth. I highly recommend these people, they are extremely down to earth, polite people that know how to get things done.
